The Sangudo Sports Grounds Society is a non profit, volunteer organization committed to maintaining and improving our community sports grounds. The volunteer board of directors and members work collaboratively with other non profit organizations to enhance the area.
An annual spring work bee is open to all residents who wish to contribute to these enhancements.
The Sangudo Sports Grounds is located on the northwest side of the Hamlet, surrounded by the Pembina River. This is an extremely scenic location, often referred to as our “hidden treasure”, offering a great family swimming area in the Summer months. The CN train trestle adds to the unique views.
The Community proudly hosts annual events at the Sports Grounds such as the Sangudo Summerfest at the beginning of July and the Parade & Kids Carnival in August.
Our two well developed, shale ball diamonds are the envy of many! These diamonds are fully fenced and both diamonds boast comfortable seating which enhances viewing from the sidelines.
A walking trail follows the river along the Riverside campground, which is owned and maintained by Lac Ste Anne County. The walking trail extends west, between the river and Deep Creek Camping and then north along the river to an historical site, where the old highway once crossed the river.
Deep Creek Camping, a privately owned campground, is nestled in the river valley as well.
A skateboard park, covered gazebo with firepit, outdoor fitness equipment, and playground compliment the area.
The Sangudo Arena, operated by the Sangudo Agricultural Society is also located in the Sports Grounds area.
